I find those who make statements on behalf of an entire group of people (without even being chosen to represent it) in the wrong. Speak for yourself. Please.
This is just a reminder that artist signups close on December 6th! We will be asking all artists to confirm their participation and confirm the number of fics they will do art for after signups close. Right now, we are about 12 pieces of art short for the number of fics we have signed up provided no artists drop out. This means we still need more artists to have art for every fic and to cover any artist drop outs!
Artists, please consider joining the KHBB! Any kind of art is allowed from traditional art to digital art to gifsets to fanmixes to fanart! You can sign up here.
Everyone who isn’t an artist, please spread the word! Thanks!
Kurt walked into the Garden Shop without a clear idea on what to buy. A lemon tree? Some simple begonias? Maybe amaryllis?

Because Lallagogo drew it (so beautifully my dear) and because I have an obsession for roasted chestnuts ;)
Title from Dalida’s song “Les marrons chauds” (The roasted chestnuts)
J’ai froid dans le dos et j’ai la goutte au nez
(I’m cold on my back and my nose is dripping)
Quand l’hiver est là et que tombe la neige
(When the winter is here and the snow is falling)
Pour me réchauffer il me faut plus qu’un baiser
(To warm up I need more than a kiss)
Ah ! alors tu m’achètes quelques marrons grillés
(Ah ! So you buy me some roasted chestnuts)
Kurt doesn’t realize it at first.
When they take a walk around the busy streets of New York, that first winter they are finally together to face the city, they do stop fairly regularly to buy warm drinks and even warmer snacks.
Like waffles, or roasted chestnuts.
And Kurt does notice that Blaine likes to hold the little paper cone, craftily unfolding the shell to reveal the golden chestnut that he feeds to Kurt.
A week later, Blaine comes back from the market with a pound of chestnuts and Kurt doesn’t mind - especially when Blaine and Dani manage to make “marrons glacés”.
But when they walk in the Park and Blaine runs away from him to get to the street vendor with the burning coal and the roasted chestnuts, Kurt starts being suspicious.
Adjusting the béret on his head, Kurt walks at a more dignified pace, tugging on Blaine’s scarf when he comes to stand next to him.
"Addicted, much ?" he jokes and Blaine blushing, burying his nose in the soft, blue material. Between the scarf and his beanie, Kurt can only see his eyes but he can spot the little wrinkles that always appear at the corner of Blaine’s eyes when he smiles.
"Maybe a little," Blaine finally admits, looking up at Kurt from under his eyelashes, an opened chestnut in his hand as an offering.
Kurt takes the paper cone from Blaine’s hand and pops the chestnut in his mouth - there really is something about the taste of roasted castanea - with a smirk to his fiancé before starting to sing a French song from the 1970s.
Un petit marron dans le creux de ma main
Ta main par dessus et le tout dans ma poche …
(A little chestnut in the curve of my palm
Your hand on top of it and all of it in my pocket)
Aaaand coming back in the office after a busy weekend was never this cute! [french music in my ears right now <3 <3]
